| The Native Americans called Nantucket “The Faraway Island”. It has always engendered a dreamlike quality, enhanced by extraordinary architecture, wonderful tales of adventure, some of New England’s best beaches, and sunrises and sunsets across the ocean that rival any place in the world with their beauty.
76 Main Street Inn offers one of the finest locations for enjoying our island. We are only a two minute walk to the town, and our outdoor patio is a hidden treasure to enjoy each other and our delicious breakfast coffee and fresh muffins, or your own selection of wine, cheese and crackers before going out to dine in the evening.
All of our rooms are air conditioned, and all have private bathrooms and free wireless internet. Our desk personnel will gladly help with any information you might need about the town’s restaurants, your transportation needs, or details regarding any adventures you might have in mind.
We offer daily maid service and a lovely continental breakfast. Please do not bring beach towels, we have colorful, fluffy ones for you to use each day.
Among the Inn's many deli ghts are the exquisite original woodwork and floors of the front entryway, which hearken back to the craftsmanship of 1883, and welcome you upon your arrival. (Click to enlarge photos on this page).
Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast of coffee, muffins, breads, fruit and cereal in our breakfast room. Our patio is a quiet, pleasant space to relax and read, and is particularly enjoyable when the cherry trees are in bloom.
The Inn was built in 1883 as a home for Captain William Swain and has been welcoming guests for more than fifty years. We look forward to being part of your memorable Nantucket vacation or getaway this season.
